• Clearview Estate Endeavour Chardonnay 2013 750ml "Full, light golden-yellow colour, a little lighter edged. This has a very full, rich, open and bold nose of well-concentrated and densely packed aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits with powerful, exotic, nutty and toasty new oak. The fruit unfolds complex mealy, savoury detail along with flinty and smoky elements with aeration, the oak a focus of the bouquet. Full-bodied, the palate has mouthfilling and bold flavours of rich, ripe stonefruit and citrus fruits, forming a concentrated heart. The fruit is complemented by considerable toasty, smoky and spicy oak flavours. The palate has a degree of tightness and restraint, with the richness in balance. There is underlying alcoholic power and drive, carrying the creamy, nutty flavours and complex array of detailed nuances along with good acid liveliness and energy, to a very long, strong finish. This is a very powerful Chardonnay with considerable new oak presence and underlying complexities, the wine balanced in richness and structure, with excellent energy and drive."

  • Conterno Barolo Colonnello Nebbiolo 2013 750ml "Terrific aromas of blackberries, walnuts, spices, bark and mushrooms. Full body, ultra-fine tannins and bright acidity. So beautiful now but be patient. This needs four or five years to come completely together. Wow. What class and precision define this wine. The aromas show such subtle complexity and beauty. Full and tight with a solid core of fruit. Polished tannins to the maximum" James Suckling

  • Faiveley Chambertain Clos De Breze Grand Cru 2015 750ml "Bright, full red. Ineffable aromas of raspberry, rose petal and minerals display wonderful perfumed lift for the year. Silky, concentrated and fine-grained on entry, then sharply delineated and perfumed in the middle palate, boasting superb floral lift and an impression of menthol reserve to its black raspberry, crushed stone and botanical herb flavors. A wonderfully savory, silky midweight with terrific energy and restrained sweetness for the year, not to mention noble, perfectly buffered tannins. The savory, slowly building finish is hard to scrape off your palate. This outstanding 2015 really stands out for its light touch"
  • Faiveley Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru 2015 750ml " Notes of green apple, citrus zest, mineral reduction and soft floral nuances introduce powerful and punchy broad-shouldered flavors that possess a textured mouth feel before culminating in an almost painfully intense finish that goes on and on. This is really quite good and it's a wine that should be approachable after only a few years of bottle age yet reward up to a decade of cellaring."
  • Faiveley Nuits St Georges Les St Georges 2015 750ml "Dark tones of black currant, blackberry and violet mark this broad, muscular red, which is burly on the compact finish, with an earthy aftertaste, yet there is energy and resonance too. Best from 2022 through 2037"
  • Gaja Barbaresco Nebbiolo 2012 750ml "The centerpiece of the portfolio, Gaja Barbaresco is a testament to the Gaja family's historic commitment to the appellation and its belief that Barbaresco stands proudly with the great growing regions of the world. The Gaja winery stopped sourcing fruit from other growers in 1961 in order to ensure the utmost quality in its wines. In all, Gaja Barbaresco is produced using grapes grown in 14 vineyards in the village of Barbaresco. Garnet in color, the nose is almost sensual in its complexity, with aromas of forest fruits, plums, licorice, mineral and coffee scents. Long, complex finish with fine, silk-like tannins and good acidity; dense structure, full of super-ripe fruit."
  • Gaja Barolo Dagromis Nebbiolo 2012 750ml Sumptuous aromas of dried black cherries, raspberry, leather and crushed minerals waft from the glass. The palate displays marvelous freshness and balance, lightly carrying along layers of dark fruit, spice, and floral notes. This is a delight to drink now and will continue to age gracefully in the cellar for another decade or more.
  • Gaja Ca' Marcanda Camarcanda 50% Merlot, 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Cabernet Franc NV 750ml "Opens to plump berry notes with apparent ripeness in the form of sun-drenched blackberry and plum. The mouth feel follows suit with soft tannins and dark concentration."
  • Gaja Conteisa 2011 750ml This is wonderfully succulent and refined with blueberry, lavender and sandalwood aromas and flavors. Botanical, with some juniper. Medium body with integrated, polished tannins and a long finish. Very pretty. The salted-meat undertones on the palate make it very savory. Drink or hold. James Suckling "The 2011 Langhe Nebbiolo Conteisa is an irresistible wine with enormous depth, beauty and penetration. It sweeps over the palate in opulent waves with dark fruit, spice, leather and grilled herbs. It also shows a distinct balsam personality with cola and dried violets that give the wine a beautiful sense of aromatic lift and buoyancy. Langhe Conteisa is made with Nebbiolo (and a tiny part Barbera) from the Cerequio vineyard in La Morra. The 2011 vintage is slightly broader than past vintages, but this wine promises a long drinking evolution regardless"
  • Gaja Darmagi 2012 750ml The child of a ripe vintage, the ’12 Darmagi explodes from the glass in a profusion of brambly, juicy red and blue fruit that’s layered atop sun-warmed earth, cigar wrapper, baking spices and mocha. Opulent yet supple, this wine balances its chewy tannins with fresh acidity as it builds to a long, caressing finish. An elegant blend of 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc, this wine belies its name Darmagi, which means "what a pity" in the Piemontese dialect. After fermenting in temperature-controlled stainless steel for about two weeks, this wine ages for 6-8 months in barrique, followed by a year in oak casks. Concentrated on the nose and palate, with expansive and complex layers, this beautiful wine marries the distinct terroir of Piemonte with the engaging personalities of its international contributors.
  • Gaja Sperss 2011 750ml Ruby red color. Aromas are dark, pure and very focused fruit with classic hints of tar, licorice, and a touch of truffles. On the palate, Sperss displays the austere character typical of Serralunga terroir: deep structure and lots of ripe tannins. Dense, massive yet seamless, the beautifully integrated wine possesses low acidity as well as a terrific finish.
  • Henschke Cyril (gift box) Cab Sauv 2010 750ml Henschke's flagship Cabernet is named after the late Cyril Henschke who purchased the Eden Valley property in the 1960s. Stephen and Prue Henschke then established the vineyard with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc vines which produces this intensely perfumed Cabernet. Matured in 100% new French oak for 18 months, this exceptional wine shows blackcurrant and cedar characters balanced with superb fine grained tannin.
  • Henschke Hill of Grace Eden Valley 2004 750ml Excellent vintage. Good depth of colour and hue with a tinge of purple. A more savoury style of bouquet with lots of dry Eastern spices, even some black pepper. Tremendous intensity in the mouth, great power and penetrating flavours, again with a complex mix of spices to the fore. Terrific verve and energy, the tannins perfectly in tune with the flavours. Wonderful flavour, great harmony, a fantastic wine.
  • Henschke Hill of Grace Eden Valley 2009 750ml The colour is deep, dark red with a slight purple tint. The bouquet opens with cassis and 'canned corn' aromas, building complexity as it warmed in the glass, to reveal five-spice and vegetal, herbal and black fruit aromas, with tinges of dried herbs, leather and tar. It's rich and fleshy on the tongue, with fine-grained tannins and gentle, mellow flavours that are not particuarly fruity, but very very distinctive of Hill of Grace. Soft, fluffy tannins and great length; a sensational wine and a very good Hill of Grace.
